I don’t know what you mean by ‘if they enter the tax, they don’t calculate the deduction.’ Are you stating that it’s figuring the deduction incorrectly based upon the amount you’re entering for taxes paid? It should collect the amount of state and local taxes from your W-2, and then ask you if you paid any other taxes.
