  1. A failure to file is no different from any other tax error. I believe the statute of limitations is 7 years, though I may be incorrect.

  2. They can go all the way back. certain crimes have no statute of limitations e.g. murder. and when it comes to the governments money, they won’t write it off.

  3. why wouldn’t you not file..you have open yourself up to an audit plus criminal charges. The IRS sends paperwork to your last known address for not filing.

    I know that you should keep records for 7 yrs with the IRS. But in your case, I would keep all records and go to an tax accounted professional right away.

    You just might have missed out on MONEY that is owe to you.
