		<description>States don&#039;t normally tax unemployment compensation, so that might explain why they didn&#039;t take anything out.

Check on that though - I looked at the Ohio tax form and instructions, and didn&#039;t spot a place to take it out.

		<description>Long time since I had this problem, at that time the state exempt the unemployment pay from taxes based on my family deductions.  The result I had to pay only the amount correlated to the pay from the job I worked.

If I had no income but from the job, $6,500 would be taxed at 2.3%, since I had unemployment the $6,500 was taxed at 5.6%.  This kept me even and I did not have to pay additional tax.
