I e-filed on March 12 via turbo tax software, and received my refund through direct deposit. However, I had to amend the return due to tuition payments, that increased my refund by about 1300. I mailed it to the IRS and still haven’t heard back. How long does it take to receive an amended return?
Allow 6 to 8 weeks for IRS to process an amended return.

An amended return takes 8 to 12 weeks to process by the IRS.
Too bad an amended return cannot be e-filed. Good luck.
