When filing a tax return, you use a software right to speed up the process?

you still have to do the figuring out part and so you would have some kind of manual there to use right?

  1. You have to do inputs. The software does the math and filling out the forms.

  3. Not just to speed it up, but also to do calculations for you and things like transferring info automatically from one form to another.

To use professional tax software, you have to know what to enter where. Personal software like TurboTax has the instructions build in, in the form of questions it asks.
